El Salvador has common borders with Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua and 300 km of a stunning Pacific Ocean coastline that has surfers raving. It is the smallest and most densely populated country in Central America with 295 inhabitants/km2 (excluding the Caribe province). Its climate is tropical, resulting in two separate seasons, the rainy season running from May to October.
